I’m really disappointed that I can’t think of a better post title! Oh well that will do for now!

It’s the end of the first full day in Japan and so far it’s been AMAZING! I love this place.

Because I’m lazy, I’m going to write out my day in bullet point form.

  • Right now I’m in Kawaguchiko, which is at the bottom of Mt Fuji. We’re in this Inn… I cant remember the Inn’s name… but it’s good! It’s directly opposite the trainstation so it’s SUPER convenient
  • It’s averaging about 10 degrees at the moment – PERFECT weather. So nice. For those of you in the Brisbane heat – SUCKERS!!
  • Took about 5 trains today and a few buses too – was a real pain transporting luggage everywhere – it’s times like these that you really miss your dad. Normally I could just release all my burdens (heavy lugagge) to him, but not here. My back’s really sore now.
  • It’s so fun watching japanese people. They all have unique styles. Like a lot of them have this shiny winter coat with fur. I really want one… but I think it’d look kinda weird if I wore it in brisbane.
  • Have only had one legit Japanese meal so far (been snacking a lot cos we’re always on the go) – had Udon for dinner tonight! Was SOOOO nice!!! The cook also complimented my socks saying they were kawaii – they were those socks i got from JP from korea (the ones that look like a 5 yr olds pair of socks)
  • Went up Mt Fuji as well! So beautiful – little piles of snow everywhere but it wasn’t that cold – we were SO blessed as well because we got some great photos of the mountain – apparently it’s a bit of a gamble seeing the mountain because more often than not it’s covered by clouds and mist, but thankfully today there were a few minutes (literally) where the sky cleared up and we could see Mt Fuji clearly. [photographic proof coming]
  • Had cakes and cream puffs – SOOO good – the japanese really can make awesome cakes! not too sweet, really light in texture, beautiful presentation and DELICIOUS!
  • Had 1st naked Onsen (hot springs) experience tonight! – was fine at first cos it was just me and mel but then 2 japanese ladies waltzed in very comfortably in the nude. All in all it was reallly great! So relaxing. Doing it again tomorrow in Kyoto!
  • Got to wear a Yukata (like a japanese robe thing) to the bath – felt so… legit :)
  • Sleeping on the floor tonight! – in a traditional japanese-style room with bamboo floors and a thin matress etc – OH and japanese sliding doors!!!  it’s seriously the coolest thing ever

That’s all for now! I really wish i could post some pictures up but I cant… no tools.

Will try and blog again soon cos I dont want to forget one moment of this! i’m soaking it all in :) It’s seriously the best.

Wish you were all here… to carry my heavy luggage…. I AIN’T GONNA LIE! ;)

Super SUPER cool.

Zubbles = coloured bubbles – Why didn’t someone think of this earlier?

“…after ten years of experiments and discoveries, we have done what scientists claimed was impossible… we’ve combined the simple joy of bubbles with the beauty and magic of color, inventing the world’s first real colored bubbles”

They make it sound like rocket science.
