Is it a fear of failing? Fear of not making it in life? Or more recently for us students, is it anxiety due to the up and coming final exams?

I recently listened to a podcast with Josh Roberie. Don’t you just love those sentences, those words, in sermons which just speak to you clearer than a Chrysler (?) Anyway, he said this:

“Fear is saying- I trust in more of my inability than God’s ability”

“I can’t do this assignment”, “it’s too hard”, “I’m running out of time to do this”, “I don’t understand anything”, “I’m so behind, I’m going to fail”- Sound familiar? Any time we say this, we are in actual fact saying that we trust more in our inability than in God’s ability.

I challenge myself, and all the students in particular out there, to lean on God’s infinite ability. And with final exams a-comin just round the corner, what a perfect opportunity to put this into practice. Let’s dispose of all those “I cant’s”. For we surely CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us.
